This is fucking brilliant news as its sticks two-fingers up at Sony for removing the OtherOS functionality that enticed me to buy a PS3 in the first place.

PS3 Security in tatters

Sounds like there is absolutely dick all they'll be able to do about this.

Sounds as if they've shot themselves in the foot too as the hackers only bothered with the PS3 after the OtherOS functionality was removed. Silly fuckers.

Mac owners be wary (time to get some AV installed perhaps as piracy == potential for viruses.)

Farcebook opens up privacy to API developers

So if you use Farcebook, be wary of who you permit access to your personal data, they could easily cull a load of info and sell it on and you get more crap through your mail box.  And just because you've not explicitly added your mobile number to your account doesn't mean others haven't (particularly if you've a smart phone and access Farcebook through it)..

Oh Noes! Someone could find out my fake name, and if this does bypass the profile security setting, that I live in London. Nothing like another good FB scare story.

<insert Slackers tirade regarding not using Facebook, and only using Gnubook, where you have to program your own security settings and update your kernel twice a week>

You're breaking the Farcebook T&C if you're using a fake name (Section 4 Item 1, its why Kate Middleton from Kent was banned the other day, they thought she wasn't using her own name).

Cheers Jim, I have the laborious task of trying to encourage my wife to keep her laptop (running Win7) up-to-date herself, until such time as she takes this on-board and does it herself I have to make sure its kept up to update.

I realise it's a case of the boy who cried wolf but I wasn't taking the piss!

It's a massive story.
