Don't know if you've seen this setup: http://www.pbase.com/fotoopa/setup_2009  Focus like a laser-beam.

Impressive. Always been a big fan of Stephen Dalton, and built an infra red gate years ago, but gave up as testing it on film was rather expensive... maybe I should dig it out again.

Neither of those work at my end chris.

Here are the results of the rig.

Stunning.

Good, but chasing them leaves you at the mercy of the backgrounds. I prefer Dalton's site/ studio based approach.

The Bombus images were the best for clarity. Quite a rig though

reminds me of a lot of the pictures on the strobist pool of people dropping peppers/chilli's/lemons into a fish tank.

pooh.

It was the humming bird moth in the middle of the second row that I really liked. The rest are still amazing though.

Personally prefer natural backgrounds, even if they are distracting, over blatantly obvious studio setup of the Dalton frog, but that's probably just me.

Its not the best example I know, but there isn't much on his site. The books I have of his are incredibly natural, and lit much better than that rig would allow.
