Snow-free bouldering tomorrow???
January 08, 2010, 05:35:37 pm
Thinking of a bit of a wander in the peak tomorrow and maybe seeking out a few dry problems.  Anyone spotted any problems not affected too badly by the snow.

Anything at Rivelin?

Mother Cap - Conan & David still look OK?

eatswood maybe?

Cheers....

Mothercap was fine yesterday, should imagine it will still be ok tomo.
Had a quick look at right end of Burb S, Leotard Legend, Zorev and David Traverse were all climabable. But very cold indeed and getting anywhere is pretty epic due to deep drifts.
Shining Cliff down in the south peak would be a good choice, though you might have to be careful which way you drive in.

Thanks for that Bonjoy...

Might have a look at Shining Cliff if we can't find anything closer to Sheffield.  keen to keep the time spent on snowed-up roads to a minimum.

Any idea what Sparks, Moontan start and the stuff in the quarries might be like?  I'm guessing Sparks and Moontan will be OK unless there's a thaw, but I could be wrong.

Well...a grand day out at Rivelin.  Plenty of dry and snow-free problems.  Thanks to all those who posted useful suggestions - might check out one of those tomorrow.

David, etc still doable (though not quite by me) although the wind has turned a bit and is now coming almost straight across the face so it's pretty bitter.  I managed to shelter in the niche between attempts but taller, burlier folk may struggle.
