For my sins, I am a youth worker :guilty:  We are currently working with some energetic teenagers that need a regular outlet for lots of pent up energy.  Some have shown an interest in climbing and we are looking into a boulder to be constructed within the grounds of the youth centre.

I need information, help, advice whatever you've got with regard to our potential liability/insurance needs for such a facility and any rules/ regulations with regard to young people (12 to 19 year olds) and adults using it.  Would we need to supervise use?  Would supervisors (if required) need qualifications?

A side issue...  we're also considering getting a slack-line but what's the deal with using these with da yoofs??

I know there are open access boulders in public parks etc. but this I assume is very different to placing them on our property.

Of course this is all a secret plan to get me a lunchtime training facility at work but what benefits one could benefit all  :P

Cheers All in advance of your beautifully written and helpful replies!

Grant
