Way ahead of you. Count these babies. And like I said to your mother - "you'll need both hands"

Skool may now be on Thursday(if you sort out your priori-tays.)

Epic! This is going to be a good year for yorkshire climbers...

Why, are you all moving nearer to Hobson Moor?

Like a fine wine, they get better with age.

Back at the depot tonight, and my, how things are coming on. In a matter of weeks it will become "fully operational".
Had a look-see at the 'back room' and I have to say I have never seen anything like it, the semi-boarded out "cave" is jaw-dropping. I've pestered Brolly to post a pic, which would be nice.

Went today, it's the best indoor climbing facility I have ever been to and with the new developments we got shown today, it will be the perfect training venue... especially the woody and that gigantic roof  :jaw:

The woody has definitely not got enough press. Supreme stuff.

The roof is definitely going to be star of the show. Got given the tour by Brolly today and the thing is enormous. There is so much potential for everything but in vertical. Big rising traverses, dynos etc etc. Seriously. This is going to blow everything out of the water. And if they open it on a comp day...

Not long to wait now...

Went today. Had another look see round 'back. Everything is now fully plyed out, including Campus boards. There is a 9 metre deep, 11 metre wide 80 degree 'roof' - and some other stuff. And Olly was trying to tell me about some thrutchy overhanging corner. I  worry about him.
Cannot be far away now but I guess, as usual, it will come down to the matting.

I cannot wait....how 'bout choo?

Can't wait! Does that mean that the flared chimney horror has been left in? Just on the right as you go in. It looks fun but with much potential for serious hardness.

Yes. Olly was extolling its virtues, and I was just thinking about prolapsing my rectum. No doubt the site of a few :spank:

Nearly there, just finishing a few things and in the process of getting the matting fitted....

Will be opening the back section on the 11th with a fun comp and party.  I've posted in the comp thread or just go to www.theclimbingdepot.com for full details.

Thought I'd squeeze a last couple of photos in before we have finished.

Any questions please let me know (or pm me).

Cheers Ol

:agree: They totally spoil it but hey, people like them for some reason.

The wall looks absolutely amazing but how high is that roof? I'm just thinking about the PaulB style injury potential. Doesn't look as if you'd want to be flying off it out of control from even half way up.

I might note that this is only out of interest. I would never climb anything so high, not out of fear but because I'd be totally pumped by about five moves in.

Concerns have been voiced but The Depot have rightly pointed out that the roof is in fact no higher than the rest of the walls. It just looks bigger becuase its so big.
This doesn't stop the fact that there's plenty of punters and wee ones who will be dying to get fallen on as they ramble around underneath it. Coming off during a big swing could also be a bit dodgy.

Keep those first aid kits at the ready.

Also, why does it have to open on my mum's birthday?!  :devangel:

At least on a roof volumes wont take out your chin/face/bollocks as you fall past them like they do on more vertical walls...

All this talk of training boards on the other thread, so I thought I'd post a photo of ours.  It's hard to get the full perspective from the shot, so the approx dimensions (off the top of my head) 4 meter wide by 5 meter long, at 50 degree and covered in Beastmaker holds.  This is also opening next Friday as it's part of our phase II.   We may have 2 of the harder comp problems on the board...

Cheers Ol
