Hiya

Has anyone been camping at Magic Wood this summer?  I know that they were doing a bit of a revamp so bit of a girly question really, are there showers (or anything vaguely resembling washing facilities)??

Looking around on the web the site seems to be pretty basic - just wanted to be prepared having been thoroughly spoilt by La Musardiere in Font over the past few years.

Thomas/z said that they are planning to install showers at some point in the future with support from the locals (which will bump the cost of camping up), but nothing is in place at the moment. They just have a water supply/recycling/bins and the blue rooms of death.

The uber expensive gasthaus edelweiss up the road in Ausserferrera is letting people use their upstairs shower for a fee of 5 CHF. So we used it once as a luxury day towards the end of our recent trip!

Ah great stuff, thanks for that.  Don't mind paying the extra.  I'm not going to ask what the blue rooms of death are, I think I can guess and i'll await a lovely surprise when I get there!!

I may have to turf the boys up to the hotel at one point too so they can wash behind their ears, bless 'em!

no showers at the moment, apparently they will install them next summer together with proper toilets, electricity and campground extension in old quarry across the road

Has anyone been to the Magic Wood campsite recently? Any updates as to whether there are showers or internet or any equivalent luxuries would be appreciated
