Angel bay is an okay venue, not worth travelling for. Parisella's etc is nearby so you could make a day of it, but I think its fairly well established that Porth Ysgo is the only N wales beach venue worth a long journey.

Porth Meirion.  Well who'da thunk it?!  Get 'em while it's hot.

There wasn't much of a beach at Ysgo on saturday.  Looks like its all been washed away by storms.

The amount of sand has been steadily decreasing for years, which is a shame seeing as it makes the kids less likely to enjoy themselves for several hours while I circuit...

Bubba, the beach is over the headland on your right as you decend and contains some large blocks with worthy problems on them. Speaking of which, will these be in the new Lleyn guide or will they be left undocumented for adventurous dad's to discover again and again?

Although the bouldering area gets called Porth Ysgo it isn't. Ysgo is the bay to the west, NT owned with nice steps, a waterfall etc.
The main bouldering, old pier remains etc are on Porth Alwm, then further east, between the main area and the Made in Heaven boulder, is Porth Llawenan.
Both Porth Ysgo and Llawenan have nice sandy beaches at low tide, at high tide they are mainly coarse shingle. For the surfers amongst you, I've seen good rideable waves at both though there are a few submerged rocks.
I think Panton's reason for calling it Ysgo in the guide was to make it easier to find as the NT signs can then be followed.

Which initially never clicked for me until I was half way down the harrowing descent via the conglomerate arete. Note to first-timers, take the nice steps that JB speaks of.

I wouldn't advise going down the steps, you then have to cross the point between Ysgo and Alwm, which is a non-starter above mid-tide. Go across to the wheel house, then down the incline.

Shhhhhh JB.. there's no surf there, ever, don't go.. it's rubbish and the rocks will rip your fins off and break your ankles.  If anyone else asks, tell them its crap and unrideable.
