And it keeps 9toes in work. Bargain.

Im going for dinner with the real nine toes, and his family in december.  Maybe i'd be better placed to give my opinion after that but for now i agree for the same reasons as you tobi.  Keep them, they cost nothing compared to the econmic benefits through tourism.  On the flip side i tend to agree with houdini that its sickening to be able to be born into a place of power, but then again they tend not to use, or abuse, their power too much in the government, political decision and national interest...  perhaps they should given some of the decisions tony blair has made in the past few years!

That's 40.3 million a year every year.
which is peanuts. Compare that to the amount shit like Carousel fraud costs the UK each year, estimated to be around £8.5billion. Wheres the public campaign to get rid of the dodgy VAT fraud gangs that cost each of us nearly £150 a year? Personally I think the monarchy are an important part of our heritage and should be supported. Most of them work bloody hard at a difficult job that I wouldn't want to do.  Has anyone thought how much the royal family generates purely from foreign tourists? Look at it this way, I'd happily pay 62p a year so our country continues to be more culturally and historically interesting than republics. And it keeps 9toes in work. Bargain.

Seconded.

It's been a while since you were at school, hasn't it oldfella?

As for my representation.  Fuck 'em all.  I'll represent myself thanks.  Certainly not a bunch of genetically challenged racists who generally show little more than contempt for the people of Britain.  Especially Charles and Phillip: who are chronic!  They also show utter contempt for the environment.  Charles who's Aston has been polluting the air for decades inbetween trips of the private jets, boats, helicopters, planes, trains of the royal household while giving it this and that about the impact of this and that on this and that!  Pah!  Thank God the people of Britain are fuckwits!  There'd be revolution if they could see the difference between what they say and do.  (No there wouldn't! TV if far too important!) Fuck 'em!

(EDIT - spelling!  & to add extra rantage.)  And another thing!  As for what they represent... Thanks but I'll leave that bucket of worms alone.

(The Duchess of Kent:  She is kind, and I've no gripe with her.)

Spoken like a true royalist. I thought they were all descendants from Greeks, Germans and Austrians.

They don't represent a Britain that I recognise. I find them and the institution they represent an embarrassment.

British / English? Same thing? You and oldfella need to reach an agreement on this.

eh

'ows that?

i never said anything about english

i don't have to agree with anybody - even myself

anyway didn't he clarify by putting

its what they represent. england / britain.
?

and another thing.... in terms of forebears/anscestors - i would be so bold as to opine that the average anscestory of britain as a whole is pretty darn similar in make up to the average anscestory of england

i used to be fairly tolerant of the monarchy, but in the last year or so i have come to loathe them with a passion.

prince charles - where do you begin? ok, he makes nice biscuits, and his bacon is so-so. but a leader? come on. the man is a cunt. and have you ever listened to him babble on about architecture? why can't he stay down in cornwall and stick to making ice cream.

harry - an odious little fucker. i believe his nickname at sandhurst was "sicknote".  i would have been most amused if, on the evening of his infamous nazi uniform outing, he had been accidentally dropped off at a polish paratrooper reunion bash...

wills - so he cleaned a loo in argentina. or was it chile? do we care? frankly this fat-faced toad might be the worst of the lot. william the wanker.

queenie - possibly the last of the god guys. not that they were that good.

phil - a posh bernard manning. he should be locked up, and only brought out for yossarian's royal variety performance. yes, a bit of a role reversal here. instead of receiving a standing ovation and then watching that squeaky voiced little cunt make crap jokes all night, from now on the royals will have to perform for us if they want our handouts. phil can do a duet with jim davidson if he likes...

prince michael of kent - ties a mean knot, but pretty irritating.

andrew and the tv presenter one - what do they do? couple of chancers i reckon.

fergie - please stay in america

the horse-riding one and her nasty daughter with the pierced tongue - please submit yourselves to medical experimentation

anyone i've missed?
