Bouldering In Switzerland
July 27, 2004, 02:36:17 pm
Hey Folks,

Moving to Switzerland in a couple of weeks due to new job and looking for some specific bouldering areas that are nearby.

I will be working and living in Leysin, which is just off Lake Geneva. Didn't a section of the Bouldereing World Cup take place here? Is there any bouldeirng in Leysin?

Does anybody have any ideas? I am thinking of buying the Blocheart guide, but not gonna watse the cash if it doesn't contain anywhere near (tightfisted Bastard etc etc).

Anybody have any ideas?

Cheers

The Blocheart guide has about 10 spots (top of my head guessing) within about 1 hours drive of Leysin, so hook it up.

I have to admit, I don't know where that is, but I think Ailefroid is in that region.

Hey Rosie Bee!

Tell your dad I hope his new job is going well (didn't think he would get back in a kitchen, I've seen him hand out a bollocking!!!).

Back home on Sunday (getting a lift with Dolph and bringing stuff back). Tell El I will give her a ring tonight or on Saturday. Fancy going out into the Pass for some sport and / or a few beverages??

See ya later

Ailefroide is way more than 1 or 3 hours drive away, more like 5-6.  Blockheart contains details of a few odd (ie one or two) boulders locally which may or may not be any use depending on your grade.  Col du Montents and Vallorcine on the French Swiss border to Chamonix are in a beautiful location with some hard bouldering but mainly you'll want to be giong away for the weekend to sustenpass, cresciano, chironico and magic wood, all within 3-4 hours drive you lucky ******.
