Dublin Climbing walls?
April 01, 2010, 04:03:28 pm
Ay up.

I'm working in Dublin all next week and was wondering where the best place would be to go for a bit of indoor bouldering after work?

If I don't go climbing I'll end up in the pub every night  :alky: and then I'll be fat and weak for Malham next weekend.

Cheers.

Not sure there is a dedicated bouldering facility in Dublin, there's a few Uni walls listed here with links though.

Nice one, I had a look at a few of those. I was hoping someone who's been to a few or climbs there might be able to tell me where's best to go. The UCD one looks like it has a small bouldering wall......must resist pub......

You could ask the people on the forums of the Shortpsan for their opinions on "the best".

:)

Nice one

UCD is best probably, not great though. Its bright til nearly 8 so you might have time to do some bouldering outdoors. Download the guide, where are you based? Scalp, Bullock, Three Rock or Portrane on the northside would be all better than going to the wall,

Thanks for the info!

I'm flying over so I won't have my van to get around which is why I was thinking indoor. The UCD sounds about right, get a couple of hours in after we finish. I'm staying at The Northstar Hotel in Dublin 1 so I'm hoping it isn't far away.

Cheers!

Theres Dalkey quarry too. Some bouldering, not amazing some might say (not me, love the place).  But at least its rock. Good trad too, if you're that way inclined. Other than that, UCD is alright.
