Anyone use rings for training?
August 15, 2008, 02:13:16 pm
Seeing current Olympic wads displaying mindblowing all round strength and body tension on the rings got me thinkin a wee bit:

Does anyone use rings as a training aid, and, if so, any they good?

A quick google suggests that rings are seriously versatile training tools.

Interestingly, from my point of view, google also reveals that people over 75 kgs and/or 6 ft will seriously struggle to ever do things like the iron cross move due to something like Torque=arm length x mass.

Can anyone here do any of the waddy moves associated with this bit of kit? If so, how tall / fat are you?

If you haven't looked already I'm sure there's some other threads on here about them.

80 kilo 5'10 -  iron cross when I was in my early twenties.

Can I have a medal?

it might be worth pointing out that since dense has started training on rings 2 things have happened.
1: he has turned into a triangle
2: he can no longer climb on rock unless the holds are jugs that happen to be swinging about
