Good Grit Season This Year
August 12, 2008, 07:09:16 pm
Well, they seem to have got the summer forcast right.  ::)

Lets hope they are right with the winter one. Less mild than last year and with possibily less rainfall!

Very vague, but its leaning towards what we want to hear

I hope so! this summer's been a load of  :wank:
(Comment borne out of 1 hour drive to Almscliff yesterday for it to start raining as soon as I arrived... hmph)
Bring on the cold and dry.. lots of blocking high pressures  :)

Yeah what a shit year for limestone crags like Kilnsey, seems the best plan is to get there early in the season eg. May/ June like Ste Mac and then bag it off!

appart from the couple of weeks of humid hot weather this has as far as I'm concerned been one fo the best summers in years for bouldering - most of june and july seemed to be unseasonably cool and dry all things considered!

I need to get down to Rubicon when your there for the beta on stuff! I saw your photo sequence on Hot fun, but still need the crucial info for Caviar.

I'm with Dave it has not been an exceptional year but it hasn't been too bad in the peak (yorkshire has been pretty washed out mind).

(yorkshire has been pretty washed out mind).

9 times out of 10 we don't get to choose where we want to climb. Its mostly decided for us. Malham, Malham and Malham. Can think of worse places though! Itching to get to Yew Cogar, and Gigglewick and Gordale.

(Right, i am off to Malham!)
