Head towards terminal 3, book a flight to Paris then head south from Charles de Gaulle following signs for Melun and then.....Fontainebleau  :P

Thanks! LOL

Now seriously, new to area and could really do with some local knowledge as I've moved here from Yorkshire where stone is plentiful. So Heathrow area or even in the South!

Cheers!

That was at least partly serious. It's certainly quicker/easier to get to the forest from central London than most UK areas. You've picked a pretty bad part of the world there.
Nearest bouldering is probably the sandstone around Tunbridge Wells.
Opinions vary on the quality but it's definitely not Bleau (where is?)

If you've got transport there's some stuff at  Portland in Dorset but  you might be as quick going up to the peak.

You could go for a potter on the Sandstone down arout Tunbridge Wells. An acquired taste (very soft and sandy) but a diversion for a few hours

You should try southern sandstone....http://climb-guide.com/boulder-guide/se.html

then Portland....http://www.rockfax.com/databases/results_buttress.html?id=298
(http://www.rockfax.com/publications/miniguides/item.php?id=80)

Then decide that Font is probably the best option.....www.boulderbus.co.uk....

Wow...that's almost like an advert.....will I get into trouble?.....I better try out that new button that's appeared on the top left of my screen.......

Try the one on the top right (as your looking at the screen) it might be more fruitful  ;)

......I must have had my head flat on the desk at the time......although that is a sign of boredom, bothering to correct that.
