v10 replacements
June 18, 2008, 10:23:20 am
everyone must have heard that 5.10 stopped making these shoes and have replaced them with the jet septs (not had many good reviews)

i very much doubt i'll be able to find another pair in my size before my current one's rubber gives in, what can be the best replacement slipper (i'll even give in to velcro once more, not lace ups i'm afraid- too lazy- dragons laces just dont feel right)

i mailed beyond hope and they informed me they never shipped the evolv agro so no luck there (stopped making them too)

what size are you? cragx had some 5's kicking around (on the off chance you have tiny feet)

have checked all uk avenues for replacements already, only bet is that i go half size up with needle sports which isnt a bad thing as my current size 9s finally fitted after i removed the rubber toe, so if i get 9.5 i wouldnt have to remove the toe rubber but could get ill fitting shoes that bag too much around the elasticated bits

Just spotted these http://www.evolvesports.com/optimus.htm bad boys on the Evolv site - could have potential after a stealth resoling?

They look interesting. Is Evolve rubber that bad?

I think 5.10 rubber only makes a big difference on grit and similarly coarse rocks. For lime I'd even say others are better. Evolv is as good as any of the others, hasn't seemed to hold El Mocho or Sharma back much.

Speaking from the experience of many sessions on powerband?  ;D  I agree completely, my evolvs were noticably worse on the grit but have held their own on the slime at malham kilnsey and in the peak.

optimus looks weird....the images they've put up probably dont help cos they look like size 5's, might have to see if works or some1 in manc buys any in

anyways just got a couple of leads on some new shoes....v10's in 8.5, dragon lace in 9.5 and jet7 in 8.5

Really? I'm a size 8 in both v10's and dragons. I have had more than one pair of each and its definitely right for me after they stretch.
