I am 6 weeks post knee op now and totally psyched about being able to start physio next week... I am going to ask my consultant (in sheffield) to refer me to someone over here so i don't have to try and get to sheffield every week.
does anyone know of any good physios in manchester? or are any of you good physios living in manchester?  :)  preferably NHS, but I am willing to have a few private sessions if their is someone who is highly reccommended.

I've never had very good results with (private) physios - they tend to leave you alone in a room under a heat lamp for 20mins and then charge you £30 for the privilege.
Here's an alternative that's more hands on:

Based in Horwich, not been for a year but it was £25 for initial consultation and £20 per session afterwards.

That's cheap for a good physio.  She should charge more.

She's not a physio, so no dubious electrotherapy... She's a sports and injury therapist, I suggested her as an alternative to (private) physiotherapy (my experience of private physios has been pretty poor compared to those in the NHS).
She is very cheap though considering that's for an hour of serious massage (no, no extras, before someone suggests it).

I thought this place was good. The odd heat lamp, but mainly a good diagnosis (took a couple of sessions to pin it down) and then some killing massage and good excersises..
I had (not biblically) Andy..

You get what you pay for, which may well be cheap in the long run. I've seen Alan Raw in the city centre for shoulder problems.

These are private and very good. A chap called darren, ex army, ex stoke city physio, ex british bobslay team physio ( ;D),  he rescued my back from its decline and understands climbing injuries.
