Stanage this weekend
April 24, 2008, 10:44:38 am
Hello everyone.
I'm off to the peaks for the first time and thought I'd check the stanage area. Anyone know what the conditions will be like this weekend and what spots in particular are good for V0 - V4 range?

Go to the Plantation, you can't go wrong really. The other stanage areas aren't that good, worth checking out Burbage, Cratcliffe, Roaches etc first.

Plenty of parking at
or the
. Both will have space mid-week. The later used to be P&D, but the machine seems to have been broken for donkeys. Personally I always bung a quid or so in the voluntary donation box to help maintain the car-parks and other areas
.

I really like Grimer's circuits in the new Stanage guide, they give some nice ideas about problems off the beaten track too. It would be worth trying to beg, borrow or steal a copy. You could have borrowed mine, but a mate left it on top of my car when I drove away. Some guy found it and was supposed to send it back to me but never did
(If this was you, any chance of mailing it to me?
)
