Fuck me chillax, those boulders look amazing! Terible landings though by the looks of it, like Ysgo but jaggedier (which is now officially a word.)

The boulders are awesome, but the landings do tend to be pretty terrible. See a recent post of mine on the YYFY thread, took a big fall off the top of one of the safer boulders and was extremely lucky to not break something. For the night sesh those pics are from I think we had about 15 pads! If you ever think about going there then bring at least 4 pads.

I think I ended up there with one pad and swiftly backed off from the top of carbide. There's a really good 6c thing around the corner though and I think a SS that we tried briefly was later done by Eddie Barbour at around 7c (am I correct?) if so that was going to be awesome as well.

Do you mean this problem:

If so then the standup is a 6c/7a called Eat It and the sitter is called Homeward Bound,  probably around 7b+. James Pearson did the first ascent. Ricky did a line going left from the SS and is probably around 7c. Only going on hearsay about the grades as I can't do the SS move (yet). Fair play for going for Carbide over one pad! I wouldn't even touch it with less than 5!

God my memory IS failing me as I was there. Yes that is the correct problem though.

(somebody needs to reign you lot in over there re: tick marks, carbide looks a mess and someone has drawn an arrow in that vid, non?)

Curmudgeonly complaining under 25 years old is one thing but leave senility to those of us who have at least passed 30!  :rtfm:

Eh? Wha.... Er.........

Sorry, as a dozy old prick who has no idea what's going on I'm going to bail out now and study the final run of the skeleton bob in great detail.

(somebody needs to reign you lot in over there re: tick marks, carbide looks a mess and someone has drawn an arrow in that vid, non?)

All ticks get brushed off afterwards. We were using a lot of chalk on carbide because it was quite humid out that night. That arrow was pointing to a hard to see foothold (for my benefit, that crossover move was at my absolute limit at the time I couldn't hang about to spot the foothold) and was made out of strips of tape. All removed afterwards. Besides, it rains so much over here, chalk doesn't usually last more than a day!

I'm nowhere to be seen in that heaving mass of humanity (although I might have been there having a smoke out the back)

PS My 40th was at a freind's wedding and I can remember parts of the evening.

PPS lost world is good isn't it?

Indeed it is - conditions were mint yesterday for hanging those lip holds. My mate did it lovely and static but as I am in possession of virtually zero core strength I opted for a more utilitarian lunge / big swing combo.

Got Happy Daze standing start after a frustrating session on it last time too..all in all a productive day out!

I haven't climbed in the peak for about 5 years and forgot that there are some really good problems :P

In all seriousness, there are a few problems I want to get done in the peak so I might make the effort. You keen to come on the next mission UTG?

It seems that should read "UT".
But you'll always be UpTownGirl.
