Had a Tiger Snake in the garden last week as well...which was nice.

Saw one of these slinking off into the leaves and other detritus at Mount Frankland (WA).  Didn't go chasing it and was quite pleased to get onto the granite slabs where I could at least see the fuckers.

Adam, you didn't have to move the snake though did you?  A wide berth would have worked just as well, and the guy in the hat is brave since the snake is clearly longer than his arm.

Actually, isn't the one in the top picture dead?
The one here was trapped under our woodpile by our two cats and I wasn't going in after it. We have a wildlife research centre and sanctuary just a kilometre from us here and one of the rangers lives across the road which is rather handy.
Anyway, it's the Brown Snake 2 feet from the finishing hold on that slab today that means I'm calling it quits until the weather cools in March or APril!
