Not sure what they're trying to achieve there really - the number of "guests" lurking would suffice, it seems to be a bit OTT to publish a load of ip addresses. Thing is, they can see them anyway, as can I from the admin panel here, if I so wanted, but what's the point in publishing them?

I know you can't derive that much info from an IP but it could get people into trouble who shouldn't really be posting there due to work committments, etc.

I think RT's got too big for it's own good anyway. As JP says, if you just look at "rocktalk" then it still can be useful, but when you've got 160ish people online at any one time you're going to get a lot of shite posted too.

Not that I'm jealous or owt  :wink:   Seriously though, a good forum is a balance between quality and quantity imho.

Sound words Mike - i've semi given up on Rocktalk for lack of anything of interest to bother posting about these days.

As for the quantity/quality thing - i'd settle for either on the HKClimbing forum - i put it there and no buggers using it (hence my lurking around UK forums)
