Nope, but just listened to a few tracks on MySpace.  Not my bag really, a bit look a poor version of Primus.

[I assume it's the same people as it says they play Hamburg on 25.02.2008]

Yep. Failing to get the Doom references meself.

More like a glam sunn o))) though that does excite me.

So lets hear it for sunn 0))) the loudest band I ever did hold my ears for - (they know a thing or two about sustain...)

Drone baby, drone . . .

I was just waiting for the heavy bit.....
OK as a heavy rock track I guess, but I've seen it done much better.

To be honest everything sounds a bit light after sunn 0)))  THey're more hardcore than rock I guess, good riffs though.

Back to my favourite subject after techno, Suomi AKA Finland.

Scepticism ~ Aether

Deep in layers unwarm drifting
Lower in depths still descending
On wide billows slowly floating
In colder streams smoothly drifting

Beauty unleashed
Light wind flowing
Heard Silence

A dance to abyss would soon follow
Once another would soon swallow
Darkness as the light most silent
Silence as the darkest of voices

From Silence and anything
To Silence and nothing
Is the path of final solitude

This is a rare clip, next to no Scepticism stuff on the whole web.  Alas, this is not from Stormcrowsfleet, their debut LP, but a later release. There weren't too many of them either.  Great funeral doom band.  Again, as a live clip I've seen shows, normal serious people.  Performed in suits and slicked back short hair, no gunbelts!  Best Finnish music I've heard to date.

Anyone have any tips for Burzum?

I like Filosofem (I've found a remastered rip) mostly as it's more loopy w/ slow drumming, spooky keys and spoken words.  Not so keen on the busier stuff.

Listening to the Anthology release now. Det Som En Gang Var is pretty neat - especially when it slows.

Sorry, been away.

The original Burzum/Aske is the best, but often hard to get.
Det Som Engang Var is also a fave of mine.
I'll PM you later.

any one like refused? one of my favorites.
canibal corrpse always make me laugh, great fun but what's with the voice? sounds like a pig, practically cencored themselves. kreator are quite entertaining and i really like the haunted, death metal's answer to queen!

here's a band you should check out: www.myspace.com/quarterblind. really, really heavy. (shamless plug for some friends of mine)

If you like The Haunted, check out (if you haven't already) At The Gates (essentially the same anyway).

I'm going through a metal phase at the moment...

Just listening to the new Metallica album and enjoying it lots.  It's out there on the torrent sites if you want to find it.

I also got tickets for the Slayer/Mastodon/Trivium thrashfest at the MEN in October - can't wait!!

found myself smurking quietly to myself for some time after watching ironman. There was a scene when he was in his "garage" rebuilding a car and he had suicidal tendencies - institutionalised on. Really loved that track. Surpised such an old track would get a repeat airing in some form of media.

Cheers
Tim

slightly "lighter" than that, but top stuff, is the new Scars on Broadway.

I'm just praying the rumoured Carcass album and tour are going to happen, and hoping they will be as of old.
