Clachaig Bar
August 07, 2003, 11:53:51 pm
Back in C1989, the Clachaig Inn had a new bar constructed. Thank God, because trying to get a pint whilst other folk were simultaneously eating a super-fatted bridies whilst playing darts from the lid of the piano adjacent to the old bar was about sandbag F10b.
Anyway, the first ever traverse of the new decorative bar barrels was performed around June 1990 by the resident local crankster Paul O'Donnell [and a superb T shirt was subsequently designed to celebrate the event]. This was soon followed by an onsight & "chalkless" effort by Neil "the chuff" Hinchliff, from the nearby hostel.
Does anyone know if the bar traverse has received any other notable firsts? I reckon it went at about 5b.
Also, has anyone ever beaten the 44 seconds record for the Climbers Bar "toilet traverse" at the Kingshose?
