This drives me mad on a daily basis. Today's example - child seen last week - diagnosis simple tonsillitis. Parents start the penicillin, bit of childcare juggling for couple of days. Child gets better - however the antibiotics need to continue for 10 days (dosed at 4 times daily)
School refuses to give the prescribed medication - so antibiotics stopped, apart from am/pm doses. Week later child gets recurrence & is off school again.

THe list goes on and on.

Yep and it's not an HSE thing either. It's the individual school/nursery trying to avoid litigation...
Drives me nuts. Worth reminding them, that when accompanied by prescription and letter from parents etc. the school will be liable if they fail to administer. Or exclude by virtue of refusal to admin. Just mention the terms "duty of care" and "loco parentus".
Call the obudsman!!!

Utility Cuntanies.  Get up against the wall and ready for the revolution you motherfuckers.

Moved house.
Stayed with British Gas.
384 phone calls later this is sorted.
Final bill to come from NPower in my name.
Doesn't come.
19 phone calls later it arrives.  Addressed to my landlord.
I can't pay it as my details are wrong.
I need to give them my meter reads, date I moved and details to set up an account to close my account.  Which they have, on the bill.
"I'm trying to pay, can I not just do that?"
"No Mr Arms, we need all your details so we can fuck up again and cost you more time and money"
"Well in that case, FUCK YOU"

Cunts
Fucking useless cunts.

Not sure if this is in already but... rolling contracts. It seems to be the way things work now, and I think that it represents everything that is wrong with the world.

Sign up to something - gym membership/Sky/mobile phone contract etc. If you want to terminate your contract you have to let them know, in advance of the renewal date (usually within some fixed time frame) that you want to cancel. Otherwise they automatically sign you up for another year, and take the money from your account/card.

They dont even have to send you a letter telling you that they are doing it. This is so wrong.

As much as i think the BMC is a great organisation, doing fantastic things, this isn't one of them.

Having spent what seemed like 15hours sat scrunched up in a ball on the floor of the Lescar along with a thousand other bodies who'd only really turned up to watch AGritstoneYear listening to the latterday buck-toothed-Bonnintonoid prattle on about how extreme he is and how gay boulderers are, I like to think he owes me one anyway without having to enter a competition.

Santander

It took me about a month or possibly up to two months (I wasn't counting at the time) to open an ISA. I'd started the application online and eventually gave up and went in branch.

Finally I made my first deposit, hooray.

Weeks later receive a cheque in the post for the amount I'd deposited and some kind words telling me that the account closure I had requested has now been completed.

What the cunting fucking cunting fuck?! I didn't request this.

There goes my ISA allowance for the year   :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

Having spent some frustrating minutes going through the bullshit of their telephone service I got through to an apologetic young lady who told me she would put me through to the specialist team...ring ring "the team are closed..." "click"

Taking the day off to go to Chezzy for the cricket.

Reading the weather forecast for rain all morning and most of the afternoon.

Deciding not to go.

It not raining after all.

And today I went to Trent Bridge and drank beer in West Bridgford and Nottingham.

I saw no play there, either!

Grrrr....grammar!

Ok, so I can't actually put the word myself into room 101. In fact, it is a very useful and necessary word in the English language.

But, aaaaarrrrgh, BUT, it gets used incorrectly all the damn time.

Examples:

Email from someone at work:   "Blah blah blah.....if you have any questions please contact myself."

Just NO!

"It provided myself and my less time rich partners who flew out with an excellent value trip"

Just NO!

What is wrong with me and I?

Ok, breathe, sorry - rant over....

You should put this whole sentence in Room 101.

I hate bad grammar.  People using me and I in the wrong way irks me, especially when people are trying to be posh with their "you and I" when it should be "you and me".

tomtom:  I am OCD with grammar, I don't mind mess, but my CDs must all be the right way up in the case and all filed in alphabetical order by band then by album within bands.

What!
Alphabetical by band, sure, but then albums must be chronological obviously.

Genre, artist name, album year.

Gareth, incorrect grammar annoys you and I both.
