Chop a baking dish-full of celeriac into strips/slices 10p thick; lots of garlic and red chilli flakes; season; mix together ensuring mostly the slices are flat in the dish; add enough single cream for it to bake in.  Bake @ 170/180°-ish.  Et voila: something yummy from the Celery plant.

I think it's lovely in risotto too - adds a nice peppery taste.  Celery's also one of the "trinity" of Cajun cuisine (with peppers and onion).  So if you ever find yourself stuck in the swamplands I'd keep any anti-celery sentiment to yourself (along with any views on the banjo being for people incapable of playing guitar).
