november - climbing comic book
January 11, 2008, 03:00:03 pm
“A novel and intriguing...glimpse into the weirdly introspective climbing scene. It's great to see the comic book genre being used in this way...let's hope there's more to follow.”

Of course there wasn't... but we've just unearthed the last few copies of november from the bowels of the office. i've not seen a copy for a while but it still feels as organic as it did first time around. the content rings true given the current weather too. depressingly minging and november-esque.

i'll have to look to see if we've any copies of The Thing lying around too.

I think it's ace and recommend it to anyone who hasn't got a copy.

Always wondered though; do you think the big arete that get's climbed at the end is meant to be Reservoir Dogs @ Widdop?

Paraphrase "It's E7 just getting to the gear"

It is definitely Resevoir Dogs. "Mr Pink", how many clues do you need :)

Bloody great comic, I'm really glad I have it. So spot on, captures the whole weather / training / community / grit mish-mash so well. That page you posted cofe, in particular.

In fact, bloody great to have a thread about it. It needs to sit in the pantheon of climbing classics.

Less dole more students?

Less top-ropes more bouldering mats?

More techno?

That's about it...

If only it was OTE #1's you wanted . . .

Techno is far less popular in the UK than a decade ago.

Minimal Techno is the new Electro which is the new Indie. Techno used to be for geeks, now everyone loves it.

I haven't got dates to hand, but doesn't the comic predate the FA of Reservoir Dogs?

Or is it a case of life imitating art imitating life?

I reckon a sequel should be produced; December. All a little older, got jobs, but still boulder a bit.
