Stretching injury
December 05, 2007, 07:15:31 pm
I've done something to my leg - it hurts right at the top when climbing (especially high-stepping) and gets progressively worse during a day/session. I think i did it stretching (knee to chest and bridged position stretches), but it didn't hurt till the next day. I assume i've torn a muscle or something. Anyone have any experience of this kind of thing?

Do you do any warming up before stretching? If not, you should. Right at the top on what side?

Yeah, I always warm up - I'm pretty puzzled about what i've done to it. Perhaps i've trapped a nerve? The pain is on the front side.

Yeah, the stretches were to work on highstepping flexibility. Anything i ought to do about it?

Good to hear that some other people stretch.

Just sounds like a bit of a strain to me. Especially if you did it when stretching. I think if it was a trapped nerve it would hurt a lot, all of the time rather than coming and going.
Best thing to do is to ease off on it for a few days (i.e. don't do any high steps or stretches on that leg) and it should mend itself.

Also stretching after a bath/shower is is a good way to make sure you are warm.

p.s. Dylan :furious:
