Haunted cottage round to the right. (SWB pic, not Golspie).

Did you boulder in the bay? Nice pics.

Didn't know about the cottage. We didn't boulder either, had been climbing at Reiff all day.

Tyres came with bike and i never changed them. As for the reflectors, well, guilty as charged. Will get rid ASAP. Never really noticed them!

How are you liking your Stumpy Adam? After initially not really liking mine that much at all we've now clicked and really enjoying it now.

I think i might break it if i carry on. May have to go down the enduro route. Then again, not sure about the extra weight. Its a tough one. Other than that, i love it. Might buy an enduro for the harder days, and keep the stumpy for the longer, more xc stuff off the man made trails. Did a 60k ride in Scotland this weekend, with a fair bit of road on it, i struggled on these sections.

You could beef up the tyres a bit but then pure XC would still suffer. Enduro can certainly take a lot of abuse. I'm confident my stumpy should be able to take most trail-centre abuse, especially now I'm a lot less fat :)

Recently rode an Enduro in Austria and was pleasantly surprised by how well it climbed, especially since that was all we seemed to do  :'(

Can't quite see the logic there?  Surely the Enduro would be better for the tougher xc off road stuff and the Stumpy better for (smoother) trail centres and mileage?

Joking aside I have seen a wheel reflector fall off on a drop off and then the rider run over it and get a puncture  :o

Nice piccies.

Logic for me is to use the stumpy for the long all day stuff. Lighter, (i think?) Maybe change my big bulky tyres out for some smaller ones. I am still new to all this so just guessing.

Well that makes sense now.  I should really stop skim reading posts like Slackers.

I'm running:

Front 2.1, Folding, 60a

Rear 2.1, Wire, 70a

Seem to work well and are very fast.

I've dragged this topic back from the dead...and renamed it, sorry NortonSharley.

Really, if you want an equivalent to the DFBWGC but for bikes, I can recommend the rather excellent Chicks and Bikes blog, which does it rather well...

Anyway, back to the pics...this is going to hurt

Quote from: Singletrack
Hike a bike, exposure, big mountains – all things we like. Harald Philipp and Martin Falkner head to the Ortler region, climb some big old mountains and ride some nice steep slopes. It’s beautifully shot and we particularly like the fact the pair of them ride with an espresso maker, gas stove, big lump of meat and some proper china cups for their coffee. That’s class.
