Raw Food Die(t)
November 05, 2007, 09:28:49 am
I tried one back in 03 with not a lot of success but am keen to try one again. Has anyone done one for a period of time and felt markedly better for it (lighter, stronger, purer etc).

10 points also if you can remind me of the scientific name for the group of vegetables that can't be eaten raw (broccoli, potatoes, cauliflower etc). I'm sure there's a name but can't put my finger on it.

A similar sounding word aye. I was told you can't eat brocolli raw due to your stomach's inability to digest it. You sure you can eat it raw Ben?

Well I've eaten shit loads of it raw over the years.  Even when I steam it it's usually still crunchy.  And look at me!

Does that include raw meat, eggs etc? Rather you than me, or ya closest work collegues!

Why on earth would you want to eat only raw food? I do enjoy some raw veg myself, carrots, broccoli, sprouts etc.. but only eat them now and again and usually when preparing them to be cooked

Probably to reduce fat intake?  *

I swing between steaming everything and drowning vegetables in ghee.  Steaming's great but it's not like ghee in a wok, but you'd get heart disease pretty quick if it was nowt but ghee and other top fats.

Try a week on streamed veg (lots of fresh garlic/ginger/soya sauce) and rice - perhaps before your next Font trip.  Your elbows will love you, Jim.

*EDIT - & to preserve vitamin content.
