The left one is Fred, the right one is Bill.

They're Evolvs.

To be dull for a moment, the model is the Pontas and is the Sharma 'signature' model. Pretty good too, like a lower volume, slightly stiffer anasazi velcro.

Does this mean that everybody in the Peak can stop wearing Five-ten now? Evolv, the new paradigm? ;)

Do people really buy shoes just coz someone good wears em? That's just plain silly.  :-\

Amazing looking route.

yeah they're good, size slightly larger than the Kaos' they replaced but better
they're pretty soft in my opinion but very comfortable of slabs and stuff
mine compliment the katana's I've got for steeper stuff real well

I got a free pair of the green vecro ones (Kaos?) and stopped wearing them after a few weeks trial - the rubber felt plain damn awful to me and made my sketchy footwork unbelievably poor (a good dose of mad rock and five ten quickly returned it to its previously mildly poor status...)

I had a pair of evolv predators a little while back, the rubber was useless on grit but on limestone it seemed fine

I have a pair of Evolv Defy. They were useless during the winter, but now (Japanese summer, 30 deg. and upwards) they are fine, as sticky as my 5.10 moccasym, and perhaps a bit better than my Scarpa.

I am well chuffed with my Pontas, I can do 6a+ just like Chris does his 9a+'s.
