Torrent spy, pirate bay, etc etc, dont get any download or upload speed. Anyone else having problems? Or have my isp blocked them?

It seems isp's are doing what is known as throttling BT traffic. Apparantly its becoming more and more widespread. A few clients have traffic encryption, which i am about to turn on. Ill report back if i have any success.

Utorrent works fine with encryption turned on

It's worth only running torrent things off peak time (i.e overnight) as there is less demand on the isp's then and they are less likely to reduce your bandwidth.

obviously copying kills creation etc etc and you wouldn't find me stealing music over the internet.....

I read somewhere that ISPs are sniffing out the torrent packets and throttling back the speed.  This is why turning on encryption works, they cant work it out from the packet.  You can also change the default torrent port to something else.  I use 443 which is supposed to be for https but I dont run a secure web server so it dont matter.

Worth shelling out for a decent isp sometimes

Same here with Nildram - not the cheapest but great connection and effectively no limits.
