11,665 just went down post campus/CoC. I swear I have the best efforts after such routines. Maybe its got something to do with your flexors and extensors being warmed up properly or maybe it's just more adrenaline=more will. Who cares, it felt easy.

I'd say both + increased heart beat.  But they do work, don't they?

Pulling on pinches
Deadhanging Pinches
Pinching vast quantity of plates together on the flat bit
Carrying breeze blocks to work pinch style
Heavy Bar Rolls or
Wrist Curls?

Yeah yeah yeah

But none of them are 1/2 as much fun OR noisy OR as daft   ;D  Besides - they're good for me as I'm an intermittant climber, sometimes I have weeks off due to work or the fact I live in a place w/ no rock at all and the indoor walls you simply wouldn't pay to use - I've checked them all.  There's nowt where I live, and these balls really help w/ the forearms.

Best effort so far is 11,505. Figured technique is the key when in the early stages of your powerball career.

One of the ways I managed to get mine to go faster is to hold the ball perpendicular to my body with the arm crooked @ 90° & the opening facing the floor.  As I reach the limit the hand naturally begins to point behind me a little, rather than rotating it side on - towards my hip.

I visualise it thus:

I imagine that that my hand is a bit like a rear-wheel drive motor and I'm driving the inner-ball from behind - always behind - and imagine that I'm chasing a point of the inner-balls' revolution from exactly 180° opposite it's leading point.  I never try and catch up to this leading point and drive it from there, but remain stready 180° behind it.  For me this Jedi mind trick really works - though it's obviously dependent on grip strength.

Also:  as I accelerate the inner-ball, I hone down and reduced the radius of revolution - coning it down so to speak; when I can't get it any faster and the revoltion of my hand reaches it's limit - I'll cone it up sharply so the hand movement is once again wide - this forces the inner-ball to speed up even more, then I'll cone and hone it down once more till I get a new PB.

Another technique is to rotate the powerball w/ the inner-ball facing my nads and literally throw the wrist around rather than attempt to rotate the ball w/ fancy and accurate technique and a strong grip.  This does your wrist no good at all mind - I advice caution if you take this route.

Also, and this is dependent on hand-size, but I often use it w/ the opening facing my palm as I find I can beardown more on the ball as the radius is different on the other side - obviously you need to practice this so you don't burn your palm w/ this method.

Are my hands going to be too wee to use one of these?  Are they really only good for big manly hands?  Or will it still do the same thing strength and training wise but I'll have really poor girly scores?

Depends, how long is a piece of string?  ;)

As long as you can hold the thing with one hand I'd imagine you'll benefit from using it.  If you find it hard to grasp try it with the counter facing outwards.

They are made too small for manly hands. Its all about technique.

The metal is bigger if your hands are too big.  Also, one can experiment w/ different grips.

I disagree that it's mostly technique - I argue that it's a test of grip and of torque lost or preserved through said grip.  ie:  If it's loose in your hand you won't get a good score.  If it's tight then less torque will be lost through contact w/ your hand.  First learn to crush the fuck out of it, then perfect your technique.

In my case, if string length is equal to hand size, then fairly short.

I reckon I could get my hand round it, so probably worth a go, I'll just need to practice my technique  :wank:

Although he may not be too pleased with a massive improvement in my grip strength.

Since there's a new list up, i might have to perk up a bit. Still not at my 'pre-real powerball' best, but managed 12547 on a screamer yesterday. My previous best was 12250, so I don't know what I did different yesterday.
