Pray tell me never develop an interest in the 90s...

Think of it this way -

15s to get up to speed
15s to give it some

And then game over just as you are getting into the stride of it, bit more room for error/improvement in the 60s

Just a suggestion!

But that's not how it works, if that's the way you want it . . .

Of course.  That's the way.  Blast to the mid 12s, push reset and pump to the max!!!

30s/60s/90s - standing starts are mandatory in this county

Nigel Benn - vs - Akis

Hmmmm...

With gloves, Benn; without, Akis.

Don't worry for the score, you will be stronger open-handed & on pinches if you do a little every few days.

more incremental progress:
12395
5634 30sec
4899 30sec (LH)

funny thing about music Mono, i find if i put music its worse cos i can't hear the ball as much.

Got mine from play.com today and bought into the office - just managed 11,111 although a collegue who never goes to the gym or does any exercise just got 11,701 so technique must be important.

Have to remember that I bought it to help with my RSI not for getting the best score but it's really addictive!

Cheers to UKB for the powerball advice

Spent ages trying to ignore this thread, failed, and have predictably now gone out and aquired said training aid.

10381 3rd go...

but that was yesterday and I can't match it now. Also have no skin on the inside of the last joint of my little finger - anyone else suffer with this?

The league looks funky:  20 bodies & close competition in the bottom-half.  I expect the presence of a ball will be a common feature of The Dispensary from now on.

Skin?  Mine's always been fine.

I still need a new 250Hz; haven't timed myself since before Xmas.  Should do.

It would be good if some of the stronger people on UKB would take part too.  Nibz?  Ru?  Beef?

Peaks has just awakened on the couch. I can hear the whirring of a powerball already, he's taking this  more seriously than his climbing!

Could this be the start of an official nickname?

No-one else gonna try the 60 seconds?  I  find it technically challenging with burst.  Knwing how long to power for then rest is hard, as is timing the power so you accelerate rather than slow the thing down.  Give it a try Houdini, just as a reference value.  You may even like it  :read:

yeah i've had this when it was new and i was doing it all the time - the key to avoid is keep a tight grip so it doesn't move around, and also i only don't do it enough to make that happen anymore. i've also had blisters on the palm of the hand too.

On the 60sec run GCW, what is the burst technique? I'm favouring 30sec at the mo cos for that length of time i can still go pretty much all-out for that time, but 60seconds i would either have to pace myself or truly die at the end. If this burst technique is something other than giving it everything you've got for the full duration then i suspect it might get you good scores but not be a truly busting or training beneficial as just going balls-deep. question?

Anyone experimented with the Eduoard (AKA Burst) Technique?

I'm guessing it does nowt for longevity.

Burst (aka Edouard) technique is as it says- you do a burst then relax, burst etc.  The idea is to beast it to a higher speed than you can maintain constantly for 60/90 seconds.  But you have to be accurate with how low you let the revs drop.  It's still pumpy as buggery.

Houdini's favourite love machine shalt demonstrate:

Non-Burst 90s  20,082

Burst 90s  20,903
