Even NSD must re-invent the wheel every so often; shame, they really should be working on the all new 450hz titanium-housed, tungsten-balled, assembled in a vacuum model, rather that offering gash - nay - irritating versions of something that's just fine.  Rather like new ATC's etc..

You really should get a powerball, fuck going to the gym.  You'll be siddling upto a lab strumpet, crushing a thick heat-proof tube whilst huh-ing your groin... eyeing her up lasciviously ...

Meanwhile over @ powerball.com

thus

Wow, you are all quite confident! I am honoured of course, but I am rather reserved about this. 17k may seem closer but it is quite a long shot. Keep in mind that I had been "trapped" at 16317 for almost 2 years and it is known that for higher scores the increase in difficulty is not linear.

Till now, I've hit several 16.2k scores, four 16.3k scores, two 16.4k scores and one 16.5k score. So the 16.3k+ zone is quite "unexplored" for the time being and it is not easy to make extrapolations.

Of course, back when I started powerballing, even 15k seemed almost impossible and 16k was considered simply out of reality. So we don't know what the situation will be e.g. 3 or 4 years from now. (Probably the whole Top100 will comprise of 15k+ scores only!)

Regards

Akis

I had 11,081 on my first go. A week later I can manage 11,307 but only right handed- left is a bag of shite.

Any tips on starting the thing without the string?

Someone at work started this craze off just before xmas, and in an uneducated fashion I started it (repeatedly) by rolling it along the carpeted floor. It does start the ball, but the rotor thing gets clogged with carpet fluff and I had to take it apart (with help from youtube) to clean it.

Anyway, I can consistently get to ~10500 with my right hand, intermittently ~11000 and once, a massive 11402 - which is my highest ever. But I have reached an impasse. No idea how to get any more. it must be a knack thing.

Does this thread require more starting tips?

Is the Pope an ex-nazi?

Balling is fundamentally a grip test; followed by a co-ordination exercise.  Impasse?  Check that grip ie. hold it tighter.

Little Tommy Sparra: But I'm holding it as hard as I can!
Stud: Then  you need to train that grip of yours.
Little Tommy Sparra:  Wot?  You mean so I can hold it tighter?
Stud:  Bingo, Tommy
Little Tommy Sparra: Will that help?
Stud:  Eh?
Little Tommy Sparra: Playing bingo?
Stud: Shut the fuck up you wimp and listen up...    You need to train the other side of your forearm Tommy, always you revolve clockwise and hardly ever the other way, why not give yourself a fighting chance and work the top of the arm as well as the bottom, do this enough and the grip improves overall.  Also Tommy ...
Little Tommy Sparra:  Yes...
Stud:  Do it more often and for longer, say 40 minutes, you'll be amazed at the way your grip changes after 1/2 hour or so.

When you've sussed this I'll give you a tip to help the co-ordination.

Exactly Jasper, exactly...

Good to see all the strong men are at the bottom of the list eh Lee, Paul? ;)

How much of my score is likely to be poor technique? I'm struggling to envisage myself ever getting 'good' at this.  :-\

We should start a new league - the 60s; 30s is pants as much of that time is getting up to speed.

Men, I say if we can not abandon this girly pursuit, we should make it manlier.  Give ourselves more of a crack @ it.

Huh?

Cunts.

I mean, no Silly Billy!  Not at all, if I engaged the other hemisphere for more than second I would beat your score within an afternoon  ;); I lost interest in the 30s largely as it's darn fiddly and by the time you gather steam it's over.

OK - how's about I won't even enter the 60s (I never do this 30/60/90s thing anyways)?  Leaving room for younger, fitter specimens?  Think about it, you know I always talk sense.

This statement could be hilarious if taken out of context. Fuck its like national innuendo awareness day on here today. The wife asked me for a double-entendre this morning so i gave her one, etc etc.
