they probably had to build it like that cos they've got such low ceilings. just like the one in the matrix.

Ermm... Am i missing something? But the ceiling seems rather high to me...

Active rest perhaps? I'm sure theres something about a study that used cycling in between route attempts to test active rest (Horst possibly?)

couldnt it be that the board can shift on rails upwards and downwards to be put at optimal height for each person?

Its not a bike, its one of those cross trainer jobbys, probably used to warm-up and down on!
