Some of the longer term frames are more for bone transport (restoring lost segments of bone) which can be on for a while!!!  Sounds like your case is very different.

yeah I know, however I was reading about some of that for general intrest, it's pretty amazing stuff but sounds very arduous and not too pleasant.

Ok thanks... I've been walking on it unaided for about a month now and they dynamized my fixator on thursday, i'm back in two weeks to have the threaded bar removed then a following two to have it removed if everything goes smoothly...fingers crossed, and then its around another 6 weeks until I can start climbing again. Incidentally I just got back from the board which had a strong crowd in and am very psyched to start getting strong again, happily I managed to pull up on the smallest hold I use in there and crank out a good few one armers in a row so maybe all the weights are paying off and maybe I won't be as piss weak as I initially feared... Maybe now its time to deadhang...

Sorry to hear about your injury . It will be a year at the end of the month sins my fall. I also had a frame fitted and that came of last November it was on for about five months or so. Iam making a good recover, but as you know its a slow proses. Good look and best wishes.

6 weeks as long as at my first outpatient check-up everything is still ok.

hmmm I was defintely very happy that it was coming off but on the other hand I thought i'd have a bit more time to psych up for the removal procedure.

ah but, to psyche up for it could also mean be psyched out by it! in other words, at least you didnt have time to worry about how painful it was going to be...
