Boreal Ballet. I had the shoe version, the Boreal Jazz. I spent just about all the money I had on them when I was a student, as my rucksack got nicked with my Croft B3s in it.

Hey Blunk,  I have been wondering about you: Fort Collins, old school geezer, talks about Gill routes. Hmmmm... Are you the Scott Blunk quoted in Master of Rock who "spent part of the summer of 1979 bouldering with John Gill"? Ring any bells?

That's how they were headpointed. Gill established many of his problems with a toprope if the landing was poor, so repeats on toprope were certainly valid. The problem pictured is Pinch Overhang on the Mental Block, Horsetooth. It has a ghastly landing into jumbled blocks. I know one guy who broke both ankles despite multiple pads and spotters.
