Looks like bachar, looks like the verdon, definitely not chasing train. That is in the frankenjura.

Rather than train, isn't it "Chasin' the Trane" ? Bachar was an accomplished sax player and this was his homage to John Coltrane who composed said piece.

http://www.chesslerbooks.com/item/10726-crags-magazine-full-set-issues-1-33---1976-1981--uk-.asp

Don't know what they go for normally but a full set is available for $75 from Colorado which sounds like a good deal if shipping costs are reasonable

I've uploaded some of my dads photos from the 60's to my Flickr account. My dad was one of the founder members of the Cioch Club, they used to rent the hut above Eric's Cafe at Stoney Middleton. He's got some great stories about the things they used to get up to, I think they did more drinking than climbing  :pissed:

Chris Jackson has put together a great website about the Cioch Club, well worth the read, some great pics as well.

There are some more photos on my Flickr page.

I wonder what their views on lycra and chalk bags would have been?  ;)

I think that John Bachar picture is Miroir du Fou. It was made into a poster which used to be up in a climbing wall somewhere.

Cheers!. They're pretty good photos :)

I think they've been in touch with Geoff Birtles who has passed them on, not 100% about that though. I think Geoff has the original club book containing some FA's and other info from around that period.

We'll see.
