Brilliant! I was obsessed with climbing in the early 90's, spent loads of afternoons soloing in the Peak on my own (even had permission from school to do it) , went to Foundry parties (but left early to get to the Leadmill) and then went to uni in Abersytwyth in '95 and joined the climbing club, only to be asked all about the 'Sheffield Scene' and I had no fucking idea what anyone was talking about... I had spoken to Si Nadin once at Norton College, and had a word with Big Ron at the Pebble one afternoon. As far as I was concerned the likes of Ben and Jerry, Malc etc were the equivalent of Hollywood stars.

Probably taken on one of the many days of perfect conditions when we decided to set routes and train on The Wave instead.

I liked them. But surely the definitive climber's hoof was the original La Sportiva Mega? (Which could, however, be persuaded to stick to gritstone: I watched Randy Leavitt climb Profit of Doom wearing a pair)
