Thanks for the memories Al. Yep, its Simon's 'On the Lip of Insanity' at Symonds Yat (it is me belaying). I've got some really nice b&w's of it but my scanner's decided to stop working. I'll post them asap. Who is it with FBSF in the shocking icecream'n'lycra shot?

Amazingly, I'm 16 in the Doorpost photo. Very freshfaced I know, but as the Blatiere photo shows, just a few short years later I'd matured into a veritable Adonis.

As for you Magpie, frankly I'm starting to worry!

I think the ice-cream dude is a lad we called "Ponty" coz he was from Pontefract. I think he disappeared from the Sheff doley scene due to having a functioning work ethic gland. Could be wrong but seems to ring a bell.

Think that is me climbing, long hair and dodgy tights! Didnt actuallty do it until the late 80's when I was quite fit, thought it was 7b+/7c at the time...shows you how good Simon could of been.

The lad was definitely ponty but fuck knows what his real name was, the photo of Dave and jason was a big trip up to the county round '88, famously Dave was bet 2 tins of tuna to flash the manta, failed to even do it then spat the dummy big style much to group mirth.
