Some Cave action, In Life

Long overdue, the highlight of an otherwise dismal year, exploring around Font following my own inspirations. The usual no drones no close-ups no making coffee no driving to the crag no blethering into the camera for 3 mins no big numbers no sick sends, but some really bloody lovely problems a few of which might have escaped most Font visitors.

might be the second or third ascent of a super proud prow a bit in the middle of nowhere in portugal- theres so much more developing to be done in the area

yeah granite- it varied a bit but generally pretty coarse, maybe more so than the sharpest stuff at Sintra

I enjoyed this spectacularly poor sequence on River of Life that the YouTube algorithm offered up to me today. What an effort!

Having climbed with him a handful of times, it may not be that poor a sequence for him.

Of the problems that we've climbed/worked together, I don't think we've ever used a similar sequence to each other for any crux section.

Is this also a spectacularly bad sequence? It's the only other video on YouTube and it looks fairly similar, just a difference on the toehook. I'd just have said Mr Muffin looked to be trying harder, and it was therefore a bit scrappier?

It wasn't meant as a slagging off, I was impressed/amazed! I've def seen it done keeping feet on in videos but possibly by taller folk. Impressive effort regardless!

Yeah he's well into Home Cooking when he almost bins it. Equal parts hilarious and impressive! Just seems to completely forget how to use his feet having done all the hard climbing

It was proper squeaky bum time on that barn door, I imagine he would have landed in the jumble of rocks if he hadn’t had caught it.

Also nice crouch start  back around! I’ve done the sit moves off a single pad and had to add a move into the crimp, so if a complete punter like me can do that it continues to baffle me as to why all the wads crouch start it?

Are we arguing that the sit start makes it harder (in which case I agree) or that it doesn't change the grade? If the latter then who cares, just start on the obvious holds from a stand/crouch rather than doing a rubbish, potentially height dependent sit move.

The first ascent was done as a crouch, it's not a sit start, it's a low start to Home Cooking. Sam started in the right place.
