Lovely bit of rock sculpture that, glad the wrists are holding up enough to do some cool problems.

Think this belongs here. This is my first actual edited climbing video so appreciate any feedback people may have.

Nice vid, I first of all thought you had a small child with you. :).

I kept on getting black bits between clips?

Cheers Chris. Easy mistake to make, she is ~5 foot 2 or 3 inches so not far away.

The black bits were uhh, intentional. Perhaps it would have been better if the clips faded in/out, though this was close to the limits of my editing abilities.

I liked it but I personally have a short attention span so I'd normally want a video involving one problem to be shorter unless there was more drama, emotion, power-screaming etc. Maybe focus on a good shot for each of the moves and some failures then the send go? Or add some tunes if it's going to be long.

Take all the above with a pinch of salt as all the videos I have ever made are very much at the non-quality end of the spectrum  :)

Hey man, thanks for your feedback. This is one of the main things I tried to balance in the video. I wanted to tell a bit more of a story since I find videos of sends quite boring - I want to see which parts of the climb are hard, how the climber adjusted their beta, etc. I'll try to make the footage a bit more interesting next time to sustain interest. I think some more angles/if you could hear the audio properly over the sound of the bloody wind would help to maintain that interest. Or some dramatic music, as you say.

Think this belongs here (unusually for Mellow)...

Amazing looking venue! Seemed from my armchair that there was possibly some bad beta knocking about here, interested in other people's thoughts?

I think it looks like mellow just attached their name to it, rather than doing any of the filming?

From the comfort of my desk, I can't help but wonder if that White Cloud would go at a lower grade with the use of some feet, if that's what you mean?

I thought that was quality, it's even got a drinking scene, quite rare these days.

Looks ace but the music in his vids gives me anxiety (similar to when I chew gum).

I thought it was quality too, as much for the crazy setting, surrounding scenery, mist shot, fallen car, etc. Although some of the bloks do look cool.

White Cloud looked like a momentary grip sort of thing, he did try a feet-on method.

Music okay by me but really it needed this as a soundtrack:

Cheers! Yeah there are a few good problems at Lennoxtown (mainly thanks to Al Gorham) but it remains pretty esoteric - very Northumbrian-esque rock though, along with Craigmaddie. Good luck on Susurrus - so many methods!

We'll need an independent adjudicator to confirm your use of the "knee scum" on Susurrus was prior to the prohibition of knee usage!

Cool problems, nice one.

Has Gordon Bombay got easier or something? Sure I remember watching Al's video and it being 7C+!

Yeah Al climbed it crimping in the roof and toe-hooking the lip, which is definitely desperate - Dave Mac repeated it like that but I think everyone else has done a method using the lip for your right hand all the way along. Good bit easier but seems more natural to me.

The first ascentionist didn't even use his feet let alone knees!!

A collection of link-ups, traverses, an eliminate, knee bars and one actually good bit of climbing. If that doesn't scream non-quality I don't know what does.

One I put together about Allt-Wen, an area south of Aberystwyth I was developing earlier this year. The quality of the video nicely reflects that of the rock, I feel. Had a number of very peaceful days there though.
