Dan, how tall is the geez in that vid who reaches the good part of the arete with his feet still low? I'm wondering if I could have done that. I was stepping onto a marginal smear on the arete and quickly getting a right toe into the thin slot before slapping left hand up. Reaching past that would make it loads easier. Can you still take 7B+ for that...?

Whatcho talking about Willis? Lay by is essentially a one mover, getting the crimp on the arête, any which way to get into position to try that move is about 5A.

Hi Will, as Tim says the crux is the reach to the crimp although I fell off going to the jug. I think it's easier to reach high up the arête with low feet but you have to have flexible hips to get your feet right foot up then. I'm 5:9 and do it that way. It's not 5a tho haha.

I think it took me about 10 goes to figure out how to get to the crux and one to actually do it

I like it Dan. You have good footage of yourself climbing hard stuff so it doesn't need much tarting up. Some people would stick transitions in between all of that but I wouldn't. You could maybe come back to the Polaroid device a few more times though.

Why do you put vlog in capitals?

For what it's worth I agree with the above. Really like the way the video footage turns to a still and then is seen on the board with you looking at it. Was expecting and hoping this would happen with each of the videos shown.

Makes me imagine you are looking at the pictures and the video is then your memory of climbing it. Not sure if that was the plan but that's how it felt and I liked it! So more please!

Cheers, quality venue up there above Tremadog, the Dolerite is top class. It'd be a really nice place to explore in spring, lots of mini valleys.

Thanks for the comments, took your advice and made this little video using your idea. Hopefully portrays a story well. Useful as I was sorting out all my dat this weekend, and found a load of footage I hadn't used.
