I think that whole area will be popular - close to Huddersfield and Manchester, so pretty handy for a lot of people. Alongside Blackstone there's Stony Edge, Dove Lowe, Cow's Mouth, and lots of minor spots like Holder Stones, Hammerhead and Higher Chelburn. I think it's better than the nearby Widdop/Bridestones/Scout Hut Crag cluster - slightly longer walk-ins though!

Will, surprised you didn't go for the low start on solomons.  Had a look a while back and while I predictably couldn't pull off the ground on the stand start from up right I thought the direct low/sit start moves into the standup start position were a piece of piss, 5c tops. Was feeling like they would make it a better more complete problem for not much extra effort, especially not for a freakishly lanky cunt like your good self.

My intention was to go for the sit, but my plans were scuppered when I blew off the crimp and split my tip and took all the skin off my knuckles, very messy.

I don't think the low start is as easy as you're making out, it's relatively east to start low and get stood up, but actually getting into a position where you can begin climb the top half of the problem is another matter. Hopefully going to get back up there soon so we'll see.

Worst I ever had was on soft on the G at Gardoms, right hand blew of the sidepull and took all skin off both 1st and 2nd joint knuckles of all 4 fingers on right hand, bled like fuck. Seem to remember Johnny taking a bad knuckle ripper falling off highish on careless torque

I did a bad one whacking the start hold on Brad Pit with a bar towel. I was there with a lantern and had turned it off to save the battery, and by headtorch totally misjudged the distance to the hold and basically smacked the rock really hard, thankfully only one knuckle. Left a permenant scar and took weeks to heal, every time I put my hand in my jeans pocket it would open up again. Fucking crushed the problem though.

2005. Blockbuster. Lost all knuckle skin. Bone showing. 5 weeks to heal. Then did the same thing again. Still got the keloid scars. Still love this shit (yo)

I was about to fall off Browns crack at Ramshaw, so I grabbed the runner and fell off sawing my knuckles against the edge of the crack. It's weird looking at your own bones without an X-ray.

That exact thing has happened to me on WSS 3 or more times.. On Tuesday it just took the skin off my thumb knuckle.. Must be making progress!

I cheesegratered 4 knuckles, the 2 smallest fingers down to white flesh, slipping off a crimp on wisecrack (or possibly the direct) at Slipstones. Still got the scars and still not done either.
