My son was in the bath and asked why I was crying/laughing at my phone so I showed him your film.

First thing he said when he saw you climbing was "I bet he falls off". I had to explain that it was the music I was laughing about, not you.

He also then found the soundtrack hilarious. Nice one.

As I posted on my blog in reply to Dunc, I watch 80% of climbing videos muted because I either don't really like or actively hate the music involved. Any form of ballads, folk, indie or melancholy rock I find particularly awful. Some of the ambient / techno / hip-hop stuff I like though.

This is my revenge....but I put on music I genuinely like. I was listening to this CD in the car on the way back and bouncing up and down to it whilst driving. Same with the death metal and drum and bass....I love it. That probably makes me a freak, but it is genuine.

Anyway if I do another cool problem before the end of winter, I have a special soundtrack planned, you have inspired me.

right, I've tried another set of speakers and after 7 hours of carefull listening I can now hear rhythmic off-white noise over what I assume is a quiet Steve Reich style pair of out of sync loops of dense muttering "you're shit, everything is shit, it's gonna rain"

I liked the tune. Although i would have never used it in a climbing vid haha. But good on you for doing it and not caring.  And yes i too like music that most people find unacceptable (generally Hardcore (the electronic kind) related) lol.

Its a bit different to Sole Power cos you're not using any aretes, much crimpier. I think a bit easier but its defo quite a hard crimpy lock off that LH sidepull/ undercut to go for a poor RH crimp, not something you could slap for I dont think. It would be harder if you had to pull directly on the crimps without reaching past them in effect using the undercut. that would perhaps lead you further rightwards on the wall. The way i did it is defo quite close to the crack but so be it, Id be interested to see how it could be done climbing it further to the centre
