sorry for re-posting my own video of myself, but I've re-edited it and discovered some interesting facial expressions. If I'd known I was going to react like that, then I'd have set the camera to focus on where my face ends up.... and maybe spent a little longer in make-up.

skip to 1:22 for the new/slow bit

Did you re-foam that pad, Lagers, or has it been OK without?

it is a bit on the soft side but ok with an S7 booster cushion beneath it.

Very pleased to be able to get back on this yesterday after a frustrating wait since coming close early in December:

not re-filled

I use it for ground cover with other mat(s) on top or under to level it and provide more padding

It is an excellent mat for assissting with transporting children to the crag - there is so much pad sticking up above shoulder/head level that a child on my shoulders can recline comfortably and safely. I was quoted £49 for a sheet of the dense foam to fit, but have managed without. It got a fair bit of use over the summer as a baby/child mat in the garden.

Well a lot of his other vids and those from the guy who said he has been are in SW England, so might be in Avon area? No big clues other than looks Englishish limestone and trees.

That looks like an awesome roof r-man, I've no idea where it is but it looks like tom and dave in the vid.

I think its all being kept quiet at the moment until possible access issues are sorted. Although the cave looks great there aren't that many lines unless your bouldering 8C!

Is access actually being investigated here?

Myself and a few others made some enquiries about it around 10 years ago and were told that it was "very unlikely" that access would ever be granted, largely because it had been previously banned several decades ago as a direct result of climbers disturbing wildlife. The access notes at the front of the guidebook say (their bold text): "out of bounds to climbers, as in fact are all the other limestone outcrops hereabouts. All have been explored in the past, some intensively, but a combination of over zealous cleaning and the presence of rare flora and fauna, including nesting peregrines, buzzards and kestrels has prompted the bans, which seem unlikely to be lifted in the near future.".

It'd be great if there has been progress on this - it's a nice spot and bouldering is unlikely to do any damage here (as far as i'm aware).

with this excellent, sunny, dry (altough quite warm I must admit) weather, I managed my first Beastmaker session only yesterday and I am super psyched!!! found out that bouldering at the limit is a good preparation for fingerboarding. now I need to find something more specific, the Beastmaker seems to be too much related to real climbing...

ps. I'm really really psyched as of late. no work tomorrow ------------------> climbing!!!

I personally have only visited the crag once and only have information about access through word of mouth. I had heard that access may have been partially to do with over cleaning especially of routes in the area. Hopefully it may get sorted soon.

Yes, I think some (mostly aid) routes were put up in the 60's and 70's and a lot of vegetation was removed, and climbing has been banned ever since. Fingers crossed something can be worked out.

Cheers

the place in the vid is supposedly banned but everyone who knows where it is has probably climbed there at some point. no body has ever said anything to anyone i know that's been there. just be respectful as always and keep a low profile. oh one more thing you will also need to be a beast.

Not great quality, but suggests there is some potential for bouldering development on the Greek island if Tinos
