Easy question G. I wanted to look like I'm really strong on YG but I want to look like I think everything's really easy on my videos.

(Real answer, in hindsight it probably is 7a+ with the undercut beta.)

It's definitely worth the walk-in. All the problems are fantastic, the situation unique, the views outstanding and the sheep of easy virtue.

Apologies, re-uploading the file with fiddled settings to hopefully make it better quality. Watch this space...

That problem at the start going across the roof felt as hard as Souvenir to me Lore. Looks warm too!  8)

that's very interesting Rich.
I had already done it years ago, it was given 7b in the guide. then I went back there last year and found all the big jugs missing. I think that massive flakes have detached, because both the start of Souvenir and that problem were completely different to me now, especially the one in the video. from flashing it to working it two sessions there's a big difference!!!
anyone else noticed holds missing there? the rock colour is also different.

Yep. Apparently there used to be a right hand line across that section at font 7A/B but some big holds have broken off... it shut all of us down apart from Dolph!  :chair: So I opted for the easier stuff to the left!  :weakbench: The Aviator was cool too, nice big moves!

So, towards the end of last week and having realised we were staring down the barrel of some of the worst weather in recent memory, Nige and I shelved our plans for a North Wales trip and headed east up to the North York Moors.

As it was we had a great time, got loads done including a good few new problems. There's tons of top quality rock to go at in some really stunning locations, certainly makes a change from the normal grit crags.

Big shout out to Lee Robinson from Betaguides for agreeing to meet up with us at short notice and for showing us around.

Anyway, here's the vid:

Nice one, never thought that first arete in the vid would get another visit!  Did you do a harder variation on it or did we just get the grade wrong?  Looks like you pulled some decent new stuff out of that area too, good work.  Asbo Pops is a cool problem but I think the flake might come off soon/this winter - felt and sounded quite bad last time I was there....

oh, and whilst on the north yorks moors theme, I added this to UKB vimeo group but just in case you were lucky enough to miss it there, it's here too now.  Probably the best highball circa font7a thing in the area:

Brilliant effort that, it's scarier than you make it look on the vid. I toproped it but didn't get close to talking myself into soloing it.

... that's natural, Dolph and I are in the same league, climbing wise. innit?

Not sure about that right arete at Duck - Lee said 6c but I thought it was a touch harder, but then again I was trying it a) when it was still pretty damp and b) knackered as it was third day climbing on the bounce. I climb 7a max and was finding it tricky but doable so that's why I thought 7a was fairer.

The left arete got done by both Mick and Nige on the same day as that footage was shot, and they both thought it was in the 7a/7a+ region, and the right arete was a grade easier.

I couldn't even pull on ASBO Pops sadly, I couldn't get anything going off that right hand sloper! Looks like a cool little problem though.

Sorry - that second paragraph should read "The left arete got done by both Mike and Nige.."

He could at least look like he's trying. Agree, looks ace, as does the arete to the right.

I also love the arch formation in the rock, similar to the ones at the Arch at Brimham and Stanton Moor.
