Just a couple of small points:
1) Aeon Prow? There's no climbing of Aeon Prow going on there.
2) All the chalk marks above the holds were removed before we left, they were there to soak up the water flowing down the face not donkey marks (my eyesight isn't that bad), the rock is dark grey because it was running with water.

You could if you were going up rather than across and got very unlucky.

Eskdale is a prime spot, although the bouldering is limited. What bouldering is there is very good though. Rob's Wall is a three star classic, so is the Diamond. Haven't properly explored the area but there some other nice problems dotted around - all in the Lakes bouldering guide. The views are spectacular and you can even catch the miniture steam train there. Amazing!
The rock is pretty rough so take some tape just in case

The guide said Strong Arete started on a good flat hold and a crack, sorta crouching. Thought I started on the lowest holds on Robs Wall. Couldn't see any lower ones

Grade wise i don't know, 6 ish maybe 7 who knows the problem is the sloper used for the mantle is still really scrittley. Tuesday should see me topping out and a yyyyfy moment.

There are three problems on the block and another five or so quality lines to do in the area.
