Good vid.

UTG is famous for wearing socks- most photos of him also have similar photos before he remembered to take his socks off.

I think if you just drag the clips so they slightly overlap you get a simple crossfade, I'm sure that worked for me.

Its true. If the clips are on the same track, just overlap them by however long you want the fade to take.

There is something on Vimeo about what output setting to use with Vegas
http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2007/11/09/exporting-with-vegas-for-vimeo-hd/

or just copy these screens

Also, GCW, if you are looking for the h264 codec and can't find it - its coz its the default codec for mp4 (Main Concept on the list of formats)

Nah, I got h264 sorted.  I tried using it as a QuickTime file as well as variations on MPEG h264, but I couldn't tweak the file size as easily as I can in Adobe.  It's likely I'm just missing something else.

I tried modifying quality settings, frame size and bit rate with little impact.  I'll have a play with it more, it'll be fine when I get used to it.  And if not, there's always Premier Pro

Cheers for the keel beta, looks a lot better than the methods I was flailing to apply. Had never even checked out underhand in 2 trips to the cliff, so quite keen to go hunting when I next get the chance! Where abouts is it in relation to the DWR area?

From the keel, walk round and up past slopey traverse, and its in front of you. Prepare to be frustrated!

You only need to copy & paste the URL and not all of the html code that YouTube provide you to embed your link. ;)

Nice, GCW, very nice.
Using an NLE program with which you are familiar combined with a rather good camera probably takes about 2 full font grades off everything  ;)

The title of your film suggests that you were at the crag for 85 minutes, yet even the most unobservant viewer can not fail to see that the direction of the shadow cast by the talent on the first and last scenes is pretty much the same. This indicates quite clearly that the session took far less than 85 mins. Perhaps you have missed a decimal point and the correct title should refer to the 8.5 minutes spent on the session? Hopefully this is the case and not, as some members have suggested, that you filmed the access and egress scenes at the same time instead of them being a genuine portrayal of the events as they occurred.

Do you really think I'm gonna run up and down that hill more than twice?

The real answer is that it was a very dull day, and I wasn't happy with the lighting.  All of the shadows were created by a high luminescence light array, hence why everything is bright.  The scenes on the track were 85 minutes aprt, but because I put the lights back in the same place the shadows didn't move.

Hope that makes sense.

Good work GCW!

I have no idea what lagers is on about but I was just thinking that using GCW as the subject ADDS about 2 full Font grades to everything.
