You are right, of course, the place where I have probably spent more than 50% of my entire time climbing, a place I never seem to get bored of.

Is your movie online?

Sadly wasn't a climbing movie. It was a West Yorks outdoor Icelandic Saga-style gay flick. Should be out soon when we find a distributor. Is Johnny Dawes running a gay film company or is that just a rumour?

Seriously though, it was a wack spoof flick. I was trying to be a groundbreaking director by making the first feature length mobile-phone filmed film, but it just didn't work as I had intended.

She is indeed a cruel but fair mistress. Never intend going to Almscliff as you will always default to going there half of the time.

Should be up there at some point, unless the weather is very bad.

I'll be the white man, average height-ish, dark hair, with bouldering mat and chalk bag.  Easy to spot.  Unless I have my hat on, then I'll be all the above apart but you won't be able to see my dark hair, but I will have a beanie on.

Perhaps I should have made it more clear:

Anybody voyaging up there and available to give me a lift?

Ah squeek, you sound so generic!

Yes I have been studying Generics Weekly to make sure I conform to current trends.

I'll be coming from Otley, so I won't be going via Leeds sorry.

any chance of any yorkshire grit except Almscliff (or Slipstones) being dry on saturday?  Has it been raining on Caley / Earl / Ilkley etc today?  I think the overnight and saturday daytime forecast is meant to be fairly clear... is there any hope... not sure if I can cope with the winds and crowds at the 'cliff (and Sunderland Wall is hosting a compy so not even that avenue of escape).

Ilkley Calf will be dry, not too sure about the edge, but even though it might not be crowded with climbers, it will probably still be crowded, non?

Earl will be pretty bad conditions I reckon, as it will have rained there today, and it's damp and cold at night so won't dry.

I would imagine Caley will also be in bad conditions, if not I'll be there too.  A couple of weeks ago after 3 days of great sunny dry days, one night of dampness and mist managed to make the whole place pretty poor on the Saturday when we were there.

I never find Almscliff that bad because you can generally find good problems that are on their own with no-one on them.  Obviously not so good if you have the certain popular problems in mind.

Cheers for the reminder - I desperately need a change... suffering from a complete lack of mojo at the moment (got the winter blues and haven't ticked owt for ages).  Even a new wall to be rained-off at might help.  Ah well, fortune favours the brave (and prodigal of petrol money) - even a curtailed Caley / Ilkley (really want to bag First Arete) / Almscliff trip could reap dividends.  Although tempted by a trip to Shaftoe with the promise of a retreat to watch Casino Royale if the weather craps out or the icy winds and near-zero temps all get too much.

Squeek, are you an Otley boy? Spent a good three years+ worth in that town as many of my good friends live there. The locals are some of my favourite in the land.

No, I just have a friend that lives there.  Been there quite a few times though.  I'm from East Lancs.  The butchers in the center of Otley (can't remember the name) is very good.  We went on Saturday to buy some sausages and burgers for the barbeque.

Making the trip from Shef to Yorkshire this Saturday as I need to pick something up from Leeds.  I was gonna go to the Cliff or Caley (if the wind is up).  Anyone got any advice as to which will be best and is anyone gonna be around?  I'd love to go to Earl as well but I'm not sure how much further it is?  Anyone?

I might of known you'd cry off this weekend.  Talk about commitment.

Would be good to see you out this xmas though.  My number is the same so give me a ring.  PM me otherwise.  Hope your well.
