I won't say any more, except to say that it has a real favourite of mine in the lead, Ron Perlman -

- who you may recall as Salvatore the hunchback in The name of the Rose.  A great actor, I think.

And Hellboy.

  • more business, less party.
I haven't seen this, but I saw the title and the screenshot, and all I could think of was Sheffield's most gangsta climber... Dave.

Gangsta.Rap.The.Glockumentary.2007.DVDRip.XviD-SiNK (no doubt it you put that into google you can find a download link!)

Gangsta Rap is a mockumentary based on a group of over the hill gangster rappers (circa NWA), trying to make a comeback. Its a hilarious look at the soft underbelly of hard core hip hop.

I enjoyed the butterfly effect on Film4 the other night.

Which ending did it have? (Without spoiling it for others obviously!) Original or Director's cut? I can't decide which is better.

Class film either way.

Is that the one with Ashton Cujodrow in it? I have never bothered, as I usually find him annoying.

Watched "Into the Wild" on the plane. Ok film, amazing story.

I agree Chris he (Ashley Kitchen as the Mrs calls him) is usually shite but this is a really good film. I saw it a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised.

Going to the pictures tomorrow. We don't often get the chance with the sprog and am undecided as to what to see.....

A film about revenge:  a great subject.

Let down a little by some somewhat wooden performances (not in all scenes, mind) and swung between feeling gripped and a little embarrassed throughout, though it ended very well.  The soundtrack too - not the best.

Great scene at the end - Bacon's previously bland familyman character is sitting on a bench (shot up) - his gangland opponent staggers to same bench, sits, spurting blood etc.. turns, smiles and says:  Look what I made you.

I give it 5.5 or 6/10 - but a worthy 5.5 or 6 (it's marked down due to some just unrealistic dialogue for a couple of scenes & soundtrack) Worth watching, but don't expect as performance from Bacon as in The Woodsman.

Imdb gives it 6.8/10.

I got 1/3 in, stormed to the DVD player, took the DVD out & lobbed in across the room.  Gave it away to a mate the next day . . .

Mrs FD had the bright idea of getting Knocked Up on DVD last night.  If you want to accelerate your way to an early grave by completely wasting two hours of your life then I suggest watching this pile of sh*t.

Dobbin recommended that to me hence i wasted time and money watching it at the cinema, some cheap laughs but no way near enough.

Oi Bluebrad!

Recall that time in chat you said you were keen to look into manga?

Check this as an intro (skipping much trite/crass gash of the genre)

I've been recommended "The Hurricane" i.e. Rubin Carter, the Bob Dylan song etc etc

Anyone any thoughts? Does anyone know if it's true to life too? You know, does the court appeal go the way it actually went, or have Hollywood spun it into another fairytale ending? I don't know the true story, so a lack of spoilers would be appreciated thanks.

I've not seen it but apparently the film is true to life. The story always fascinated me as a kid after hearing the Dylan record. Will have a look for it myself.

I went to see Cloverfield last night not really expecting anything and I can see why people would say its shit. You don't ever really find out anything about the monster as in where it came from and the such like but thats not really what the film is about. You still get all of the oohs and aahs you expect with a big monster film theres a few moments of real tension  and the big crowd scenes are done quite well but as much as stuff happens it never really reaches a conclusion and there's not quite enough of military kicking a big monsters ass.
