Name/grade that problem...
May 18, 2006, 09:28:12 am
At wimberry.
The square block, on the same level as the Fish and above and right of Shell Shot.

1. V0 (5a)
2. V0- (4b)
3. V0- (4a)
4. V? – The obvious line of brushed holds right of the arch. A dynamic move to a poor hold or an out-and-out dyno to the break above provides the crux.
5. V2 (5c)

#4 is the one i'm looking for. Anyone done it? Cheers.

No, it's for the BMC guide. I haven't had any response from one local so i thought I'd ask everyone in case anyone knew.

Man, the topos have gone downhill for the new guide, they must've run out of budget paying for Grimer  ;)

Yes and everyone I've seen do it, did it dynamically.  The hold you're going for is rather sharp and ripped a quality flapper out of my mate's finger.  Not a very good problem if I remember rightly.  Worth doing only for completeness.  The easier problems are the better ones on this block.

try changing the orientation of the topo so both north arrows point the same way.

Grades Benf?

Benf is graded hard extremely severe.

Sorry.   ::)

As for actual question...  due to the poor quality level of this problem I've not staggered up to that block for a long time.  I may be very stupid, or thinking of the wrong problem but I seem to remember that around 7a was the general consensus.  So you're probably best being cautious and giving it 5+.   ;)  Don't take my word for it though.

Could I be any more vague?  Will try to be next time.

Cheers dude, I seemed to think it was above my level, around 7a, but it is pretty nasty and sharp.
